Eagles For Arnie’s Kids Program Providing $1 Million In Support Of Arnold Palmer Hospital For Children
The Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard is known for showcasing how Arnold Palmer and the world of golf have impacted children’s health in Central Florida. True to tradition at this year’s Invitational, Dr. Phillips Charities is continuing their Eagles for Arnie’s Kids program, helping deliver $1 million in support of programs that help improve the health and well-being of families in communities throughout Central Florida. The gift is being given in partnership with Arnie’s Army Charitable Foundation over the next several years.
“Arnold Palmer has an unquestionably great legacy of caring very similar to that of Dr. P. Phillips and our late board chairman Jim Hinson,” said Kenneth W. Robinson, president of Dr. Phillips Charities. “We’re excited to partner with Arnie’s Army Charitable Foundation to continue to develop programs and initiatives that will make a difference in the lives of families throughout our community for many years to come.”
The gift from Dr. Phillips Charities will support programs at Arnold Palmer Medical Center and other causes impacting Central Florida families. It represents an enduring partnership built over many years of support through the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Eagles for Arnie’s Kids program. To date the Eagles program has raised over $500,000 and this new commitment will continue to expand that support..
“My father always felt making a positive change in the life of a child or family is one of the most significant things you can do,” said Amy Palmer Saunders, daughter of golf legend Arnold Palmer and president of Arnie’s Army Charitable Foundation. “Our family is very proud to have a long-standing partner like Dr. Phillips Charities in the march to a better tomorrow for the families of our community.”
Arnie’s Army Charitable Foundation is a not-for-profit organization founded on the generous legacy of Arnold Palmer by investing in the well-being and development of children & youth, supporting health & wellness initiatives and strengthening our communities and the environment.
Orlando Health president and chief executive officer David Strong said of the commitment from Dr. Phillips Charities: “To truly make a difference in communities, you need partners with the vision it takes to create something that has a positive, lasting impact for many years. Arnie’s Army Charitable Foundation and Dr. Phillips Charities are shining examples of that. We’re honored to have them as partners in improving the lives of children and families.”
